The fuel tank is the section where the fuel required for the operation of the vehicle is stored to be delivered to the engine. The fuel that vehicles need to move is kept safely here and delivered to the engine while driving.
Fuel Tank Types and Features
Fuel tanks are designed to fulfill the fuel storage function and are manufactured accordingly. In order to fulfill the required storage functions, it must have certain material properties and appropriate systems. The prominent systems that should be in the vehicle fuel tank are listed below;
• Fuel tank filler neck: The filling process of the fuel tank should occur smoothly through the filler neck.
• Preservation of fuel: The fuel tank must be produced from the most suitable material according to the fuel type and with appropriate production standards in case of any leakage or evaporation.
• Fuel level measurement: The liquid or gas in the fuel tank must be measured and observed through the indicators in the vehicle.
• Ventilation system: In case of fuel expansion or evaporation, excess pressure must be relieved through safety valves.
• Engine feeding system: Fuel must reach the engine through fuel pumps and intake systems.
All these processes are carried out with various equipment used on the tank. In order for the systems in the fuel tank to operate smoothly, the fuel tank must meet certain production and quality standards. With more than 40 years of experience, KMD is one of the leading companies in the industry in the production of trucks and trailer fuel tanks.

Fuel Tanks and connections according to material
Vehicle fuel tanks are manufactured from different materials depending on vehicle types and various specifications. KMD produces fuel tanks from the following materials.
• Aluminum fuel tanks
• Steel (DKP) fuel tanks
• Galvanized mixed steel fuel tanks
• Connection components for all fuel tanks
The size, design and volumes of fuel tanks vary depending on the structure of trucks and trailers. As a result of changes in design, volume and dimensions, as well as the materials used, different products emerge for each vehicle type.
Aiming for the highest quality with the latest technology robots and various metal cutting, bending and welding equipment in its production line, KMD follows the latest quality certificates required by the sector and registers them through relevant organizations.
